Designing and building a luxury villa in Marbella already costs more than five million euros
How much does it cost to construct a bespoke luxury villa in Marbella? This inquiry doesn't lend itself to a straightforward answer. The final price is influenced by myriad variables, each capable of significantly driving up costs based on the client's preferences throughout the process.
Pure Living Properties, a firm specializing in the upscale real estate market in Marbella, has compiled a comprehensive guide outlining all the essential steps for building a top-tier residence and estimating the total project cost. This assessment factors in the current market conditions, including recent escalations in construction materials, land prices, and professional fees.
According to their analysis, the expense of designing, constructing, and furnishing a luxury villa complete with gardens and a swimming pool currently stands at approximately 5.1 million euros. This figure has seen a notable surge in recent years due to the aforementioned factors.
The guide aims to provide a roadmap for villa construction. "Many of our clients have deliberated whether building a custom home from scratch or purchasing a property and customizing it is more financially prudent. Hence, we've crafted this guide to assist them in realizing their dream home in Marbella, regardless of their chosen route," explains Javier Nieto, CEO of Pure Living Properties.
The cost of the plot hinges on its location. The initial phase involves selecting the plot and area. For instance, a 1,300 m2 prime plot with sea views along Marbella's Golden Mile, one of the most desirable locales in the region, presently commands a price tag of 1.13 million euros. Areas like Las Lomas de Río Verde, Sierra Blanca, Altos de los Monteros, and La Zagaleta boast some of the highest land prices in the golden triangle (Marbella, Estepona, and Benahavís), ranking among the most expensive in the country.

Hence, for a medium-sized mansion valued at around two million euros, this expense would hover around 130,000 euros.
